Our guest is award winning composer Brian Ralston. A career spanning 20 years in film music, he employs a strong sense of melody, something missing in many of today's scores. I like Brian’s quote “listening to soundtracks are meditative”. Film scoring should be what is going on in the screen. John Williams uses jazz chords that makes it sounds so lush. Melody in strings, chords in brass, and we don’t need woodwinds. Lydian scale uses black keys. I’m a band geek too! Thanks Frank R.!
